ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY AND RECYCLED CONTENT REQUIREMENT

Environmental Policy:

August Inc. is committed to a sustainable future and to improving the economic and environmental well being of our community. All activities are reviewed to conserve resources and to minimize waste, including the use of:

Renewable resources: We use renewable wood for frames, wool, cotton upholstery fabrics.

Recycled materials: Wherever possible we use recycled materials, such as our shipping cartons, which contain over 39% recycled materials. Fabrics containing recycled polyester are available for upholstery covers

Pollution prevention: We do not create any hazardous waste nor water pollution; We use non-polluting components and processes for foams and adhesives

Minimization of scrap / waste: We minimize the materials lost to scrap by efficient cutting of wood parts by CNC router, and individually cutting fabric and foam components

Recycling of scrap: We recycle scrap wood, fabric, foam, and containers wherever possible

Health & Safety: Our factory is a smoke free work place. Employee safety is vigorously enforced; we have not had any accidents. Healthcare insurance is provided for employees.

Community: Factory grounds are landscaped and maintained to be an asset to our town.

PRODUCTS:
Our seating series feature replaceable upholstery covers, making them renewable on site; customers can recycle them for new or continued use, moving to new locations.


Recycled Content of Corrugated Cartons:
Corrugated cardboard and containers used in the packaging and transport of August Inc. products contain over 39% recycled materials. Customers are encouraged to return cartons to local recycling centers after installation.
