August Incorporated was
founded in 1975 to design and manufacture contemporary seating. Today, the company is
known as a specialist in upholstered seating. Recognized for its product quality, its
extensive product line, and its ability to make custom seating to fit architectural
spaces, August Inc. has become a key supplier to the contract furniture industry. The
principal markets served are education, libraries, corporate, healthcare, and public
spaces.

The seating designs are original; to date August has been granted eleven patents. The Cincinnati Art Museum included several designs in their Exhibition and Catalog of Contemporary Furniture entitled "Change of Pace". Three philosophies of Augusts founders, Judy and Lee Fister Jr., are cornerstones
of the companys work.
- First: the individual unit must be an art formto stand alone or
to combine with others to sculpture space beautifully;
- Second: that simplicity, balance, proportionä
purity of line and form,must be inherent in all aspects of the product;
- Third: that comfort, function, and utility be in all products
manufactured.
To date products include a variety of different seating systems containing over 250 forms and the most complete line of children’s furniture in the industry. In addition, August has developed a comprehensive program for customizing seating to meet customer needs, including chairs and tables to fit arcs up to 80 feet in diameter; custom widths, heights, options and finishes. Examples of how this approach has allowed greater creativity and reduced risk for the designer and for the end user are illustrated throughout our project “Seating Solutions”.

The pursuit of outstanding construction and product performance led to pioneering on-site replaceable covers, resulting in three mechanical patents. Since this development in 1978, thousands of extra covers have been sold and used successfully by its customers. Engineered to use state of the art materials, August seating has met requirements of California flammability codes and stands ready to meet new challenges in the future.

Complete control of product quality and customer service results from production in a
single modern facility located in Centerville, Ohio, between Dayton and Cincinnati. From
basic stock of lumber, foam and fabric, all furniture products are finished at this
facility. No sub-contractors are used. Shipment by motor freight from Dayton, Ohio, a
mid-western transportation hub, quickly reaches all parts of the United States. Customer
service is available at the factory and is also available through a network of local Sales
Representatives, which stand ready to assist you.
